I would love to add an anemone to my tank, but I hear a lot of them can move into bad spots / can be a nuisance, etc. Right now I don't have any of my corals glued down, so i can move my corals around and would love to get an okay sized anemone in there. Does anyone recommend anything or had any luck? Or would you just avoid it all together?

BTA, All The Way.

It'll move around till it finds a good spot, then as long as parametes doesnt change, will probably never move..

Aptasia. Just kidding. We got some sweet green with orange tipped BTA's at Creation on Tuesday.

That would be awesome, but I already have a lot of green in the tank so I am looking for some different colors :(

But those of you with BTA's, will they eat other fish? Can you just feed it frozen mysis? Any other warnings? Or just good stories about them in general?

Haha I need some convincing to purchase one. I would probably try to find someone who has had theirs split so that I can get a decent sized one.

oh and one other question.... How powerful is their sting? Say I want to move it, or need to eventually get it out of the tank? (This may be a stupid question but I have never dealt with anemone's before) But if I pick it up to move it, will that hurt me? Because the research I have done on them say that they are known to split often so if you don't want to get a tank infestation of them, you need to take out the other one when it splits.

the sting isn't bad at all to me but they are diffuclt to move once they attach their foot to something.. mine split about 3 months ago and I tried several things including pointing a 3300gph powerhead right on it for several hours and it didn't move so i took it and the rock out.

how often do they split? Do you think it would be worth it in a tank of that size?

I never had good luck with one in that sizes. But then my Solana was pretty much filled up with liverock so any movement would ended up either in the overflow or powerhead.

haha I remember talking to you about that... your anemone is beautiful. I just can't seem to get my clowns to host anything else and I love that color it would add.

ps: do you have any corals / frags you are willing to sell? That frogspawn I got from you is doing incredible, best coral I have bought so far.
