Are the colors there with the kessil.

Yes. They look more natural to me. The red and green in the reefbreeders shows a lot of brown and IMO looks washed out. The three kessil a350's on my 220 were there when I bought the reefbreeders for the 30 cube. My wife kept it two months tops then ordered a kessil. The extra cheddar is well worth it. Imo

Something some of us must learn the hard way. Once you decide the equipment you purchased is crap, either you pawn it off to some other unfortunate noob or it goes to the equipment graveyard, and you buy twice, or thrice.

Does anyone have experience with TaoTronics? I've seen the name pop up in numerous forums on the web and they seem to be positive.

In my experience with LEDs, Cree (ai, ecotech, ect) is far superior to the Chinese bridgelux LEDs (reefbreeders) granted I saw holleys rb at the auction and was impressed with the colors it produced with acros, the long term results aren't great. They work, but aren't great. Since I've had the hydras on my display I've noticed some things have better color than others. But everything is growing like crazy under them. Full spectrum LEDs are the way to go regardless. Just blue and white LEDs have caused coral to lose color long term, the full spectrum fixtures hold color great. But if you're just keeping softies and typical lps I like kessils. Not sure what kind of chips are in them since they're clustered, but they produce some great colors. No wonder wwc uses them at shows. Just my $.02 here :)
