best metal halide bulb??

Looking to upgrade my mh bulb wanted some opionions on it. Its over a 40b 250 watts hqi ballast. Double ended. Would like alot of blue 20k? Thanks in advance

Hey barry. I was actually thinking the same thing from researching. I know the radium is more $ what is the difference between them.

Yep....go phoenix 14k....thats what im running over the frag tank

Radium would be my first choice, but they do not produce a double end (HQI) 250w lamp, only 150w. I prefer the Ushio 20k, great lamp. IMO

I have tried nearly every DE 250 bulb that there is and I always come back to Phoenix 14k. It has great par as well as great color.

I love my Phoenix 14k's . I run 2 x 250 watts and T 5 suppelment them. It is over my 90. Great par for coral growth.

I have found it difficult to pay more for any bulb other than the Phoenix 14k DE.
