Best metal halide bulbs

what do you think is the best single ended bulb? i like the coralview reflux 20k bulbs! i have had excellent results with them! im running dual 400w if that makes a diff, just trying to pick out my next set! thanks guys

Radium and XM are two 20K bulbs i've used. Great bulbs, i'm partial to the Radium and can grow SPS with vibrant colors 24" deep.

I've ran the Radium, Hamilton, Plus (I think they go by Prime as well), Reeflux and some other eBay brand bulbs in 400w 20k and IMO, the Reeflux yielded the best coral colors in my 24" deep tank.

Radiums are great. I liked the Reeflux 12kk bulb; great colours at a decent price.

Hamiltons are probably the worst bulb on the market..pure garbage.

I really wanted to try the EVC/Helios bulbs... seems no LFS carry them. More than one has told me of out-of-the-box failure rates of nearly half. If true, I can't blame them. I ended up with an Ushio 20K, but it isn't quite blue enough for my tastes.

I bought 2 brand new EVC bulbs online, and no failure. no issue. Look great!

You're welcome! Actually, those bulbs were just fine. They used to be consistent. Their "new" batches have been all over the place. They used to have a good 10kk bulb; it had a nice blue tint to it. Now they've gone to a strong yellow tint :yuk:
