Well like many of you, I'm tired of dealing with suction cups that no longer work. As I convert to newer pumps, they will have magnets or I won't buy them but in the meantime, I have a couple still on suction cups that I'd like to do a DIY conversion on (MJ's mostly). Anybody got any suggestions on where to purchase epoxy coated magnets that would work for this application?

tagging along.. i have a few I would like to make magnets as well.

Modded MJ's or regular?

If modded, mag floats or the Petco equivalent work fine.

If unmodded, I think a pair of the BRS magnets might do the trick.

Well not modded unless a rotating deflector counts as modded. I looked on BRS and couldn't find ANY magnets at all.

How big is the tank? I used a pair of these to hold a Subcurrent Surface Skimming filter up in the corner of a 10g and I was afraid I was going to break the tank trying to get them off for cleaning.

I did find those but they way BRS has them represented, I thought they were probably very small. My tank is a 92 corner so I don't have think glass which presents the opposite issue....will they stick?
