Hi Guys:

What is the best RO/DI that is available for household use? This water is for drinking so I want something that will remove just about everything, and gives a reading of -1 on the TDS meter. I'm willing to pay a bit more for a complete system and the budget is <$300.

Thanks!

Air Water and Ice Typhoon's are great. I wish it's the route I went. I tried to save just a few bucks and regret it.

For drinking water, you want an RO unit, not an RO/DI unit. One of these biology types can explain why... the rum prevents me from it. :D

And +1 for AWI... I could have bought one of theirs in the first place for what it cost me to upgrade my eBay (Pure Water Club) "RO/DI" unit.

Ouling,
You wouldn't want a DI on a drinking water system - RO already strips out everything - the remaining ions give it "flavor". DI water tastes like stored for 10years in plastic barrels...

HA! I beat Robb to a response!

Thanks for the awesome response. I now live in Tampa and the water quality here is worse than what gets flushed down the toilets in most cities. I have a RO unit and it's still pulling about 30 on the TDS meter (which is Atlanta tap water quality).

What R/O unit is out there that can uber clean water from tap water with a TDS of 300+? But without the BPA flavor.

I have a brs made from scratch 2 part on my wall connecting to my frig with a sediment filter & carbon.........tastes great & less filling!

as far as ro/di

AWI is located in Ft Pierce so it's somewhat near you. Just FYI

you can get a very good unit for around $150.

I use mine for tank water and drinking water. Just T off the line before the DI filter for drinking water.

In all honesty you only need a carbon filter for drinking water to get the taste out.
