Not sure I wondered the same thing.....But some of those tanks are supe nicely done.
 
Beautiful for sure.... One thing that is probably over looked and it retrospect is the last thing I should be amazed by but, how the hell do they keep their sand so dang clean!!!

I'm sure some stinging does take place, but probably not as much as you might think. I see a lot of similar acros placed together... lots of times similar corals don't mind each other so much. For instance... Digitas won't sting one another... and I've never even had one sting a plate or an encrusting ... as long as they are montipora...

Edit: man some of those tanks HAVE to suck up some MAJOR calcium

I read about one guy vacuming out and replacing with new...with no ill effects.
