Best way to silence an overflow to sump?

So I have finally set-up my 90 gallon tank :yay:, but I am not 100% happy with the water noise I am getting from where the overflow enters the sump.

Any input/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Can you post a pic of how it is currently setup? There are many ways to quieten an overflow but all are setup dependent.

Also what kind of noise are you getting? Splashing, flushing, gurgling, etc.

At work currently, but I think I've figured out an answer for my set-up with a little bit more google researching.

Its the gurgling, I had an end-cap on my PVC, with holes drilled above it. I believe that I am just going to hack off the end cap and I'll be in business.

I had everything planned out for this tank so well...in theory. Now its tweaking to perfection time
