ok so i found an 80 gallon tank that looks like it will work perfectly fine outside of my dads work when the people next to his office moved away they left it.....What is the best way to test for a leak besides filling up the 80 gallon tank and then just dumping it out???

i was thinking a squirt bottle but i mean that is nothing like holding 80 gallons of water in the tank so anyone have any ideas??

Fill it with tap...anything short of that will be a guess I believe...

Filling it up with water is the only way to test. No other simple test will create enough pressure to test the seams.

Fill it up with tap, then use a Mag pump to remove the water. Dumping a 80gal would be rather difficult ;)

put it on paper towels and fill it up, if there is a leak even a small one you will see it

ok thanks guys i was just trying to avoid wasting 80 gallons water even though its just tap i hate to waste that much water u know

you can also use a couple of cans to fill up your ro water in and use the waste water to fill it up
