Went to turn on my lights this AM and nothing came on. The moon lights are working fine, but the blue and white lights are done, no fan, no lights.

I suppose thats good news and bad news. Goods news is that I can upgrade to LEDs, bad news is that I have to sink some money in the Cube.

The stock setup is bout 2yrs old and has served its purpose so its really not that terrible

The web is full of mis-information, so I was wondering if anyone here has some 1st hand experience on upgrading the LED lighting on a BioCube.

I tried Ecoxotic lighting in my hood, then mounted on the rim, then replaced them with
a> suspended over the tank, couldn't be happier.

Hey.. Sounds great. How is the heat? I suppose you removed the hood entirely?

I did some reading at it seemed like a toss up with rapid LED and Stephens LED

I went with the stevesleds.. From what I read (yes, im sure its mostly false info) this seemed to be a better fit with less modifications

Rapid LED makes a retro kit for the bioCube 29. I haven't personally tried it myself though. When I had my Bio-Cube, I just gutted the hood and slapped at AI sol blue in it. Worked like a charm!
