Biocube leaking

this is where he cut the rim and his info from that thread:
i did this over two weeks ago and no sign of stress.
First you need to run a razor blade or sharp scraper all around the rim to cut the silicone. Next i took a small hacksaw and cut the rim into two pieces. Take care not to hit the glass. When you start to get close to cutting through the plastic pry the rim away from the glass to make it easier to cut. yes it will put shavings in the water but i ran some filter floss to remove it. After the rim is cut in to the pieces you need to pry and lift the rim towards the inside of the tank. I will be tough at first but it does come off. Just need to get through the rest of the silicone. Once off use the razor blade to remove the rest of the silicone.

The rimless look is really clean. It makes it stand out from the standard cubes.

My BC leaked from the rim all over.

I got some two-part epoxy putty, blended it, then rolled it into a thin spaghetti like string and pressed it firmly to the bottom edge of the inside rim, checking as I went that none would be visible from the outside.....

It fixed the problem, and I didn't have to drain it.

Oh, you'll need to double or triple the amount of putty you use in the two front corners, BC's have gaping areas between the glass and the rim in those areas, and that's usually where they leak the worst.

Sweet thanks do you remember the type? Im going to grab some

I just used the blue stuff from home depot that turns white when you knead it together

I guess I got lucky with mine or maybe whoever had my BC before me fixed it. I fill up way past the line haha

I love the rimless look but in 2 months I haven't had to top off this tank once... can't beat that

I think the rimless is cool as well, but toping that off would be a huge bother!

Mine leaked as well when my MP10 blasts...took a bead of tank silicone under the lip. Fixed for four bucks.

I don't have the time to fix. I'll pay anyone to do this. Anyone wanna make some cash?
