Do you have Biomedia in your systems such as ceramic blocks or something like it. If so what do you use? Im looking at adding some to my sump because of the extra surface area for BB. Ive also read that its a great place for copepods to live.

I use matrix in nylon bags, it makes rinsing and keeping it clean real easy. I pull them out of my sumps and suck all the crap out of the sump bottom every other month when doing a water change.

I use Fluval biomax media. For those of you that rinse them periodically, doesn't that also rinse all of the good bacteria colonies off of them? I always thought of them as being similar to live rock.

I have never had any issues and I rinse the daylights out of mine with RODI till the water runs clear. One tanks is exclusive SPS, 99% acros.

I use to add an ounce of Biospira but stopped and have not had any issues.

After purchasing your coral and seeing your setup myself, I'd never doubt your husbandry. I personally never rinse mine but I honestly have no idea if it would be better if I did.
