Only in a shallow tank. 18/20in minus a sandbed. Only my opinion though. Water quality the biggest concern

i do 1/4 tank changes ever 9 days weekly chems the whole 9 yards fish active..im bout sick of it i thing im just gonna stick with softies

100lbs of lr stacked in cave form 1 bio wheel filter and 1 canister filter always kept clean and 2 wavemakers

Our birdsnest is thriving under 130W PC on a 20G tank. I too think the lighting is insufficient on your tank. Birdsnest and montis are the only SPS we have, but they've been growing like mad.

Placement. Need pics. Could go with stronger diy lights used for cheap or even a stronger cf fixture or t5

what ya think....i'm a noob

How are you maintaining calcium, alk, & magnesium? What levels are they at? What type and how much flow? What is your salinity at? Nitates! Phosphates?

not sure of any of that i take my water to local saltwater store and she tests my water 1nce a week and tells me what to add in the water...im a lil new at this

Well, just wait until you get a little seasoned to get difficult stony corals. Those guys needs special care, even though they are the easiest of the sps'. Research first, before you decide what you can and cannot have at this point. No sense wasting your money, stressing out, and having livestock die. Pm me and I'll send u a bunch of info tomorrow, as I'm going to bed now.

all the stuff that dies luckly was givin to me...looking to get some softies from locals if availble

Dead never equals lucky. Give it to someone that has an established system for it and get a frag back when you are ready to go for these types of corals

makes sence....i got a small plate size brown monti if any locals want dibs on it

anybody like the set up...did i do a diecent job or any opinons on a better style set up
