I unfortunately got distracted by the holidays and let my water quality slip a bit. Water quality is back to normal and everybody is fine but my birdsnest now has a couple of bleached prongs. Im noticing a bit of algae growing on the bleached parts.

Will this spread and harm the adjacent polyps? Should I clip off the bleached prongs?

Thanks

I have a piece of Blue Tip Stag horn that broke off of the main. I placed it on a high rock and it was doing good. Then it got knocked down into my Frogspawn. One branch is totally bleached but I was hoping it would come back. Should I cut it off like you recommended for the OPs birdsnest?

If it's dead its dead, but if you leave it the living tissue should cover it back up eventually.
I wouldn't frag it unless you can't stand seeing it.. or there is an encroaching algae or other pest on it.

So far I see nothing growing on it so I will keep a close eye on. Thanks.
