Needed.I didn't believe that so I acclimated it for 30 minutes.I useally acclimate everything for a hour. I think that would have made a different.

Did you drip acclimate or simply float acclimate?
The reason I ask is that before I got into saltwater (5 months ago) all I knew was fresh water.
With fresh, I floated everything. When I started adding fish & corals, I was told to make sure that I drip this, float that, simply drop that (live rock), etc...

Now, I drip everything other than rock. Fish and corals.
My reason is that most LFS use the least expensive salt they can get.
A few, step up and use something of higher quality.

I use the Red Sea Coral Pro salt. The parameters are much higher than, say Instant Ocean.
So just to play it safe, I drip everything for no less than an hour, then float to insure that the temps are pretty close to the same.

My Bird's nest was a little rough looking at first but it perked right up after a week or two in a high quality water.
