Jeremy is right on. In a well functioning sand bed it will indeed disappear over time. is it enough to actually do anything ? NO

don't pick a sand based on that for sure. That's old school mythinformation
 
I think, IMO, when we are talking about 55, 90 or 180 gallon tans with reactors and dosing that we are taling little to no concerns in the color of sand. If we were to make an issue than would say we have more of a concern with lighting...again IMO

I think for aesthetic purposes ANY color sand would serve the same.

So which petsmart has the tech A and B? Im probably gonna hear some criticism about using it, but its worked well for me on small scale reefs.
