i got a red lipp blenny the day before yetserday..has been great..everything in tank is getting along...today i noticed the blenny picking on rock...its a red-lipped blenny (horseface) and sometimes he will almost violently attack edges of rock trying to get algae and stuff..he is eating well also i should mention..today i noticed he has a small red area on his bottom lip with what looks like a spec of blood in the middle..almost like a cold sore in humans...could this eb a disease or is it more likely he injured it going at a rock? will try and take a pic

Edit: it was not there this morning..just noticed 2 hrs ago

Most likely it is a bacterial infection. I would just keep an eye on him and make sure it doesn't get worse.

do those normally just resolve or should i start metronidazole and focus

I only know what to look for, not really the treatment lol. But I do know how sensitive fish can be. All in all I say it should be your call, because I dont have that much "hands on experience". Hopefully someone else will know more than me.

P.S, if you do treat, put him in a seperate tank, because the antibiotic will also kill your nitrate fixing bacteria. I found this out when adding antibiotic to get ride of some red cyanobacteria in my tank, and it crashed 2 months later.

ive done metronidazole and focus for ich before in main tank as long as i mixed it with food it was fine....i really feel like this is an injury because it popped up in a couple hrs but i could be wrong...mat do treatment for the injury anyway
