Hey guys,

I have a question about my brain coral in my BC29.

I bought a xenia frag last week and switch from PC lighting to 150w MH.

I have had a brain coral for a month now but this week is seems it has started closing up some.

My question is I read that Xenia and brain coral should never be kept together in the same tank, of course I didn't read this until just now. Is this true, or is it more likely my brain is having a bit of photo-shock from the new MH light. I have shortened my photo period and put some screens over the tank to cut back on the light some but I have not seen any response from the brain yet.

Thanks so much!

I've never heard that brain coral and xenia cannot be kept together in the same tank.

Ok I read it on a google search, it said some brains and xenia should never be kept together but I figured it was shock from the light, just wanted to make sure. I really like this brain and I don't want it to die on me.

I have the light as high as it will go and 3 layers of screen on the tank to cut down on the light. But I may move it into a bit of a cave I have in the rock work too. I'll have to see how it reacts to the lights today when they come on. Thanks!
