brain coral.....how to achieve brain-looking?

hi, i was wondering how to get my brain coral frag to look spherical, like the ones in those amazing display tanks. will it do so naturally or should i shave of the rock that it came with and find some spherical LR and glue on top of it?

Leave it on the sand and it will take care of itself.
