So we've now got moved and settled into the house, and the upgrades (I'll never pay a builder extra for stuff I enjoy doing) are underway so it's time to get another big tank. Most of you know us but theres a lot of new guys and gals so just to give a heads up... you've crossed a new threshold once you're willing to deconstruct your new home to accommodate a new tank. So after doing the numbers and going back and forth on glass vs acrylic, the cost to move a large tank was more in our budget to go with acrylic. Thanks to Shac Dupree we settled with a peninsula that makes Connie happy. And happy wife equals happy life. The tank comes in at 96x42x36. First picture is location of the peninsula. The bar was put here by the builder and we just dont like it. So the bars coming out middle of this week. Tank will be picked up next weekend so time is of the utmost importance atm.

Very exciting...much of my fun is in planning and constructing! Looking forward to seeing it once done!

Congratulations on finally picking the one you guys want. Going to be fun to watch this build progress, I hope to get some ideas and pointers as you go through the process of setting everything up.

OMG how fun!
First off “Congrats on the new house” is there a basement under that floor?
A tank will be beautiful there, how many gallons is it going to be?
Shack has a lot of recent experience with all the tank reno’s at his place, I’m sure you’ll love it.

No basement under its location and it comes in a little over 600 gallons.

Ok so the frame for the stand is still underway, tank will be coming this week, along with a sump. After seeing the frame, I'm just realizing this ty Hong is going to be massive

So we were thinking the skimmer wouldn't fit, but since it's a peninsula I added 2 feet to allow the sump to be out from under the tank to have a closet with access to the skimmer, here is the frame going up

Nice progress. I like the extension for the skimmer and end of the sump.
What size sump are you putting in and where/how are you going to handle the ATO?
