Brandon and Connies Peninsula build... maybe overkill

Going through the to, someone posted a tank on my r2r thread and I liked how it looked

Yea, there's no way I'd be drilling holes in the bottom of one of these big tanks, just ain't gonna happen. I don't even want to go through the sides, 3 or 4" below the surface is still a crap ton of water.

What do you think of a few powerheads on the drain side and a gyre or two near the top of the opposite side?

For the closed loop, where would you pull the water from without it being from the sump or are you planning secondary tank below the main tank?
If you're ever going to try and get to a 40x flow rate that's going to be 20k to 25k ghp!!! Or am I over thinking it?

I'm drilling the overflow side with a drain on each side, then dropping 4 returns back in. 2 pumps just for the closed loop

What pumps are you planning to use and how plan to deal with the suction inside the tank?
I've got drain covers that will prevent debris from going thru the pump, but the pumps are still up in air

I guess the pumps will be decided by how much flow you're going to want. If they're pulling quite a bit what about the stray fish that gets too close?

@outdrsyguy1 Hey Rusty, What pumps are you using for your eductors and where are you pulling the water from?

I have an 8’ long overflow as one return and a 2” pvc pipe for another return. I used a circular saw to cut slices in the pipe.

The over flow serves two reeflo hammerhead pumps and the pvc pipe serves another.

It’s a little bit of math but not too painful to calculate speed of water through notches

Polished up the end section to remove so fine scratches created from removing paper

Finished the column on the other side and added some of the shiplap. I'm looking at installing linear actuators for the side openings of each shiplap sections.

Shiplap is the best but be careful, you start painting that white somebody is going to be asking about the kitchen cabinets next.

Lol funny you say so... we've ready been looking at ways to change the kitchen cabinets color. Theres so much going on in and outside the house which makes this build a slow one
