Anyone ever done this. I've found a supplier that I can get 5-10 of them form for pretty cheap and I would like to try to "breed" them. I've heard that their is a company in Miami that breeds them in greenhouse. All I've found out is that they breed sexually and the female raises the young. And you have to feed then just about everyday. So if anyone has ever bred these or has ever had these spawn please tell me on how you go them to and tank specs.

Do you me a you have propagated them or do they actually breed?

How do they breed? I've never really heard of that before?

FALSE. Lol sorry. Their are only 3-7 different kind of anemones that can split. But most of them spawn. I've had carpet anmeones spawn, gigs, mini maxis and I've seen rock anemones spawn.

Birds do, bees do it....even 'nems do it!

Came across some rock 'nems a little while ago and the look pretty neat. I bookmarked this for a future project, but haven't had time too really find out more other then basic reading, wish I could help more. I believe that flower or rock anemones are a little different the the bubble tips that we are used to, so before you break out the razor please do a lot more research.

The general consensus is that propagation happens best with sexual reproduction ( then again what doesn't ;-), as opposed asexual division. I like the idea of a nem garden with about 10 or so but that could get a little pricey

The article mentions Tropicorium, there was a company that got into a bit of trouble last year, don't know if this is the same one or not

Post 19 has several links for even more reading!

Look forward to see if anyone chimes in with any experiences.

Ok. Thanks. And yes that company did get into table because I believe they we're collecting the anemones alegally. I think I've read just about every article and post about breeding them but yet non of then tell me exactly how you do it.

Is that a mistype or are you saying you've had them spawn personally in your possession?

I have and them spawn in my posseion. But no babies. They only spawned once about 2 years ago. Never did it again.

Gotcha, for some reason I immediately thought successful breed when I saw spawning. Guess I got exciting and it being late I bought it.

Truthfully I don't recall ever hearing of a successful spawn in a aquarium of any species of carpet....

Oh their have many many reports of successful breeding with rock anemones. The only thing is that the people did it on accident.... Just my 2 cents.
