Bristle worm?

I noticed a penny size hole going into and out the other side of one of my large leathers. Found this guy inside. I’m wondering if it made the hole or if the leather was dying and this guy was eating the rotting flesh. Looks like a regular bristle worm.

Haha, that’s not a regular bristleworm. What you got there looks like a baby fireworm.

These worms are predators. I’m guessing he chewed the hole through the leather. Leathers are pretty indestructible, so I doubt it was decaying on its own.
 
Darn.... 2 weeks ago while I was on vacation of course...my salinity went up to too high and I came back to some sorry looking softies. They have slowly recovered except for this guy and another large leather. This one seems to be recovering expect for the half with the hole. I tossed it already but let’s see if I can expand some of the pictures I took
