Hello all,
I really need some help regarding BJD. If you have it does it infect your water? Ive pulled infected coral but it seems every week I'm still loosing them,2 this weekend. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you post a Pic of what you are discribing? When I hear brown jelly I think of euphyllia, don't know if this is what you are experiencing, but the best way to deal with that is to frag away the infected and dip the rest.

It is only my euphyllia that is affected. I know what to do with the infected coral, its the water I have questions about,is it also infected with BJD?

In my experience the water itself is not a problem but the brown jelly itself gets blown all over the place so the first thing I do is place the infected colony in an isolation/QT tank. I'm basing my opinion on the fact that other colonies in the infected tank didn't come down with anything once I removed the affected colony so I'm guessing that there's not enough in the water to screw up an otherwise healthy colony.

I turn all flow off before I remove infected coral. All of my euphyllia are dying,I had 2 torches this weekend die. It doesnt matter which area of the tank they are in they just die .They look healthy one day and overnight they are dead.,

For reference, I’ve also seen BJD infect montipora caps. But yeah, I agree with all that @jcook54 and @bhodges82 mentioned.

Good luck. Dealing with infections is never easy. We’re rooting for you
