BRS 1/4 plastic netting dissolving over time?

Is this a common issue? It happened with mine. It just started falling apart one day.

They(BRS) probably haven't figured out it needs to be UV coated yet.

Same here. Seems to last about 18 to 24 months for me.

How long have you had it and what type of lights?

Under metal halide lights they tend to get brittle and start disingratinging after about eight to ten months. I have replaced mine twice over last two years. I guess life of the mesh would depend on how close the lights are to the mesh. It only goes brittle in the center where the intensity is the greatest.

So is black mesh available? Usually black plastic is way more uv resistant.

Yes, sold as bird netting in the Garden Centers of Lowe's or Home Depot
