So I have just noticed that on one of my frag plugs, there are two green bubbles that are what I assume to be bubble algae. I've never dealt with it before so any tips on how to get rid of it would be greatly appreciated! I haven't seen it anywhere else so so far its just these two little bubbles.

you can just reach in and pluck them off. Try not to pop them though.

It starts with just just two little bubble... the the creeping green death takes over the tank (ok.. I'm being a little dramatic, it's not like its bryopsis or anything).

If there are only two spots then try treating it with a Q-tip and Hydrogen Peroxide.

It's right next to if not practically right on one of my corals though. Would that still be ok?

I had them showing up one of my coral rocks and I got an emerald crab, and that is his job, and have not seen one since. I know that you just have to be REALLY careful with them b/c if it pops then is spreads in the tank..... There is a Youtube video about one way to remove the bubble algae.....Lemme see if I can find the link......:)

Edit: This is the thread I had and there is a link to the Youtube video I was talking about.

Some emeralds will take care of it and others wont. Had a small problem in my old tank and one of the 3 emeralds I purchased took care of it. It was fun to watch. He would grab hold and pull as hard a he could. When it came loose he would almost fall over backwards from the force. LOL

But in your case, a better solution I think might be to take the frag plug out. Put in a small container of tank water and have another small container of tank water near by. Pull them off trying not to pop them. The stuff inside is full of spoars which will cause it to spread if released in your tank. If they pop at least it is in a container and not the tank. Then you can scrub the frag plug as best you can with a tooth brush. Last, rinse it well in the other container of tank water before putting it back in the tank. That should knock it out as long as it has not spread already.

I don't have to keep the plug, I just put it in there because I'm newer to this and don't have experience with pulling them off and just glueing them on the rock. If anyone could give me sort of step by step instructions, that would be great. It's a birdsnest Seriatopora.

If you do this, you will have lots in you tank too. Do not scrub it off into the water column if you can avoid it.

most of the time bubble algae is kinda hard and doesn't really pop that easy. usually i'll just pull the frag out and "roll" the bubble off the plug. Just don't pop it in your tank 0_0
