bubble coral question

I picked up a bubble coral 2 days ago and it seems to be doing really well. It is fully bubbled and has great color. Early today I noticed it was secreting a brown substance in some areas.

I have read they do this when they get too much light or are stressed. It is in the front corner of my tank away from the flow and I have a 150w MH. My only guess is that the previous owner had it under T5's so it is not used to the light?

Has anyone had any similar experiences, or could bring a new theory to the table? Thanks!

Sounds like it's just adjusting to the new conditions...probably more water than light. It's just excreting waste.

I have a bubble coral that does the same thing - It's pooping - Or as Jenn says politely - defecating

Yeah mine does that also. Nasty looking brown stringy stuff. You would think it was dieing haha but its just excreting waste. Dont worry your fish will love it yum yum

I have a green bubble and does not put off brown stringy stuff but it puts off white stringy substance only when I feed my corals and only when I feed them and almost always.
