burn in a mh light

i just got some new xm's in today and put them in for a few hours to see what they were like and to make sure they would fire on my ballest is there a certain way i am suppose to do the burn in period?

The bulbs will burn in on their own. As far as the corals go you will either want to raise the lamp higher and gradually bring it back down or you want to reduce the photo period and slowly increase it. This way the corals get acclimated to the higher par from the new bulbs.
