Maybe a fluke of some sort? Can anyone tell from this video? Sorry, it was a bit challenging to get him to sit still...

Its hard to see anything from the video but if you think its flukes you can give him a freshwater bath for a minuet or two. Just make sure the temp is the same in the freshwater. If there are flukes on him you should see them jump off after about a minuet in the freshwater. You can repeat this process once a day until all the flukes are gone.

Match ph too.

Burr fish regularly have an opacity or patch of dense tissue on there eye. It's very sparkly too. Very normal.

I looks like it is actually covering a patch of it's eyeball. So that's normal? The rest of the eye has the normal look, clarity and green sparkle.

A 4 minute freshwater dip did nothing.

4 minutes would have been enough for flukes.

I take it the one eye looks different than the other? They do kind of have strange eyes, but if you're seeing a distinct difference from one to the other, there's something going on.

Could be a mechanical injury - a scratch. I'd watch and wait and see if it gets better or worse - but if it worsens don't wait too long to try something else.

My big porcupine had some funk over both eyes a while back, we fed him metronidozole and Focus in his food - took a while, but he got better. He had it really badly too - eyes looked like someone smeared Vaseline over them.

I got him about two weeks ago. The spot was a tiny at first. I didn't even notice for it the first couple days, but the spot definitely has been getting bigger. Since the freshwater dip did nothing, I've got him in 10ppm chloroquine now, which should deal with any parasite, if that's what it is. He's eating Formula 2 pellets well so feeding is not a concern. Hopefully it is just a scratch from shipping that will get better.

Good. If it's a scratch it may be infected (which I think is what happened with my puffer - I think the other puffer nipped him in a feeding frenzy).

Keep him well fed, Formula 2 has some garlic in it which will help boost the immune system. If he's eating well, that's half the battle. Hopefully he'll get the upper hand on it soon.
