is Liveaquaria.com actually good when it comes to ordering fish??? Kinda ify when it comes to buying fish online.... anyone buy stuff from there?

Excellent customer service at L.A. for sure.

I would always check sponsors before ordering online though. Our support is what keeps them in business. I would also post on the boards to see if a member might have what I'm looking for first.

We used saltwaterfish.com once. Everyone was healthy, but tiny. tiny tiny tiny. By the time you pay for shipping, normally better to go to a LFS. Most will get in what you want if it's not in stock. I know mine will hold fish for a couple of weeks to feed and ensure health. If it dies, I have a person to go talk to. I personally would only consider it if I had a really large order and shipping was spread out.

+1

My first first choice would be a fish out of a members tank as they have already gone through acclimation into the home aqaurium and are proven survivors. Second would be your LFS, just make sure that they are a responsible store and only obtian net caught fish. Third would be Liveaquaria or Saltwaterfish.com

Support ur LPS!!!! Honestly unless they are having a sale, most sponsors have very competitive prices with no shipping or teh wait. I just want to see the actual product/fish before I buy it. Only thing I liek about online purchase is teh 15 day return policy thing. With teh exception of Tim, I dunno anyone else that does that.

Exotic like arowanna's? I know a few local places selling reds. You'll pay a hefty premium tho.

She is just looking for something uncommon I guess. I love my Killies that I just got from Hooked_Newbie and I think they're pretty exotic. Not something you see commonly, you know?

i guess that's what I meant by exotic!

Can't you special order specific fish at your store? When I was into freshwater any exotics I wanted I went to petco and had them order it for me. I know you're saying they do not look the same, but coloration comes out it the home aquarium. They'll likely not show their true colors if there is another more dominate fish in the tank.

Holy ****e, lots of comments! Yeah but petco sucks when it comes to ordering fish, cuz they could have something really cool on the available list one week and then its gone the next... or like the stupid thing we have now, with not being able to order anything exotic or a whole month. ... I love my little clown loach I have though---- snozzberry -----

Liveaquaria is excellent.

Local is better though. I would much rather buy at a good lfs; not only do you get to see and inspect the fish first, it will usually end up being cheaper (no shipping).

Marine Fish and Creation Reef both carry fw fish; you may want to check them out. Both excellent stores.

Optimum Aquarium also carries FW fish -- and they're moving (might have already moved?) to Kennesaw/Barrett Pkwy, so they'll be closer to ya'll.

I got a flyer from them yesterday-I think the move is 2/20--or maybe that's their opening day?? cant remember now, but it's SOON

Support your LPS if you can at all possible. Keep them in business!

Even if it means paying a little extra. Not to mention all the other reasons. The help given will keep them around. I'd hate to be forced to buy online or drive several miles. Ive been there before and its not fun. Its great to "see" what your getting.
