Here is my order of 250 pods from reefs2go. I was dissapointed with my first order a year ago, but, they made good on this one.
I have 1500 pods on the way on an order I just placed yesterday. Will use again if I ever need pods...

Counting them isn't the problem. Its getting all of them out of the sponge squares that's the problem. I usually just put it in an empty dry bowl and they normally find their way out looking for water.
So, these guys eat algae. does that mean there will be living microalgae in the bag that could cause a bloom in my tank?
I wonder if they will eat baby brine shrimp. actually, I wonder if my mandarin will eat baby brine shrimp. I have a vial of eggs but apparently the shrimp from the eggs can not reach the adult stage or reproduce. They are pretty easy to hatch though.

They eat just about anything. I have some culerpa, chaeto, sea lettuce, etc... In my little pot tank. As long as you don't throw any of the plant matter in your DT, you shouldn't have any adverse effects...
Your mandarin will eat brine, but it will have to be trained to do so. Just be aware that brine shrimp aren't the most healthy food available, so your mandarin will probably still suffer if that is all it's fed.
But, since you have a pod factory, no worries, right?

Yea and remember their stomachs are about the size of a pin head. Its not gonna have much of affect on algae and detritus unless you have about 1000 per gallon of water. :shades:
Also most companies don't put algae in their transport bag. Just a filter sponge and water to keep them wet.

Yup. That's how mine arrive. I have a 10g with algae in it for them to feed and breed when they arrive...

Yep that's what I did and I still have a good population. I put mine in around Christmas and still have plenty.
