OK I have my MRC CR-1 up and running. The ph in the chamber was 8.1, I have slowed the effluent down and now the ph is now 7.8.

Do I monitor the ph and start increasing the effluent or decreasing the CO2 when the ph reaches 6.7-7.0?

I am sure I have more questions that I don't even know I have so will probably just keep running this thread for ever LOL

Decrease CO2 (assuming you don't have a controller). Let it run and monitor your levels. If you find that it's not keeping up with your calcium, then you'll need to increase your effluent drip rate and up you CO2 to keep your ph at the set point.

I need to find a very good one cheap....Barbara has done the research and I am sure she can find one for me....

Ok been a couple of day now. The effluent alk is 14 and the tank alk is 8. I am going to monitor daily for a few days but at what point should I be adjusting the reactor to reduce the alk or is this working correctly to start?

Thanks
