What way do most ,add cal and alk in tank. My 90 with mostly sps, are needing more doseing now that they are getting bigger.

Been testing for 5 yrs, Yes, Been manually doseing. Cal is 420 to 440. I just want to make it more stable.

I keep mine the most stable with water changes but others may disagree I have a 30g right now and do a 5 gallon a week water change. I imagine dosing once dialed in can be a good way to keep levels up.

Thanks, Im most likely going with doseing pump, or cal reactor or kalkwasser reactor. Just really wanted to know what others used with stocked sps.

Now there we go.I would like to keep it simple. I also use BRS.What pumps do you use.

The BRS pumps work well. Just put them on a timer to come on several times a day, and adjust the time period until you have the amount dialed in. You can get away with a cheap electronic timer from Walmart if you don't have a controller.

Aquametic, but there is another brand that is better..can't think of name

I am using 2 part form BRS and just bought 2 of the BRS dosing pumps. Mine will probably be online in the next few days. I have heard good things from others here that are using the BRS pumps.

93cube: I dose the two part from BRS(for now...). I add 100ml of calcium and 100ml of the alkalinity once a day. That keeps MY tank stable at 450 on ca and 3.0mg/l alk.

I use a GEO Reactor... keeps Caclium and Magnesium elevated and everything is stable. So long as you keep the Co2 plugged in, the reactor is a "set it and forget it" piece of equipment.

same for me but with a MRC reactor

Calcium reactor. I'll be brining my nilsen reactor back online soon too. The combo is the ultimate solution for stability and explosive growth and colouration.

I sure wouid like to try a 618 GEO. If I did,I bet there would be some who could walk me threw getting it set up.

I dose 2part with a RKL controller / peristaltic pumps every other hour alternating between Ca and Alk each hour if that makes sense. My tank isn't that big and mixing up DIY Alk and Ca isn't that expensive. I use RC salt so I rarely have to add Mg. I use Randy's recipe 1.

I'm running a GEO 618, and I am loving it. I can give you some tips on setting it up if you decide to get one.
