I have been adding calcium to my top off and that is working fine but i added it to some salt water the other day and created a bucket of white cloud that didn't go away even for a couple of days. I'm assuming there is a chemical reaction happening here that i am just not aware of.
Is there a way to add calcium to salt water?
and for that matter, just to make sure I'm doing it right, what is the best way to add calcium?

I always mixed calcium in fresh RO/DI water, let it settled, then pour the clear portion into my topoff. That way the cloudy stuffs don't get into my tank.

+1

also, what type of calcium product are you using? some elevate other levels like alk, PH that could be adding to your precipitation.

Well kalkwasser won't mix with saltwater, so that could be an issue. The correct way to use that is through top offs or a reactor. Fresh water is pumped in, mixed, allowed to settle, and the clear water that is saturated is put in the tank (via pump, gravity drain, etc).
