Im stuck in the choice of which im going with on the new build. I would like to hear from you if you use either brand. And only if you use them. I want to know what you like and dont like about the fixtures and some pics of your tank would be great. Thanks to all in advance. .

I'd go radion. I have a kessil over my elos mini and the colors are great, but long term health and growth aren't great. Plus radions are full spectrum. If you look you notice most vendors grow their coral under t5 or halide and sell under LEDs. Worldwide corals grow their coral under t5 and use kessils at shows. Here's the elos a few weeks ago

Last time I was at WWC they had the nice stuff growing under metal halide with t5 and led mixture on one tank. Yes metal halides and t5's are def prove for growth . I didn't have good growth with my old leds.

Be sure to compare the Kessil 360's to the Radions if you're going to be even close to Apples to Apples.

I came very close to pulling the trigger on the Radions but once I saw both in person went with the Kessil. Time will tell right? Personally I think both are great lights.

Yeah I guess I should have put that in there it will either be the 360 or radions

My kessil a150 has given me great growth in all of my sps. The shadowing from a single source is a big issue tho. I've been wrestling with either radions or diy rapid led radions.my friend has two a350w on a 90gal mix with good growth as well

The coverage is a big thing with me. Kessil 360W-e is 24"x24" and the radions are 30x30
Ill have to get 2 Kessils for the tank and I might can get away with one radion.

Depends on how much you need to cover. If you have a 30x30 area the Radion is a very logical choice as you'd need multiple Kessil's. For the 24x224 area though the Kessil is less money.

What are the dimensions of the tank you want to put these over?

Its a 40b. 2 360W-e may be a lil over kill be I won't have any shadowing at the ends of the tank.. but im still not sold on either yet lol

You could get two a150 on the 40b if you don't mind it being non dimmable

Im wanting the dimable. yhay why I should habe out that in the op. And im also thinking later down yhe road if I go bigger ill have yhe lights to do so

Sure it will light the area beyond 24" but I doubt you'd be able to grow anything. The XR30W Pro might be a better bet, but now your in the price range of 2 A360w's.

not quite true ive got an xr30w over my 20 long which is 30" long and i have corals pretty much wall to wall with no problem growing stuff on the edges of my tank. while i wouldnt put anything that needs tons of light towards the edge like acros it will certianly grow softies and lps and even some low light sps. ive got blastos war coral acans montis and a plate coral all near the sides of my tank and all are in good helath and grow. but keep in mind i have my light about about 12-13 inches above the water to get that coverage but it maxes out at 60 percent intensity for less than an hour a day so if i put it at a higher intensity it would be able to grow almost anything anywhere in my tank

You could always just get a halide setup and eliminate the question of whether or not the corals will grow

Could go with 1 360we and 2 150's. 150's can be found pretty cheap used.

That's a good combo that red just offered. You'll get good growth

Yeah buy like I said before I know the dimmable features is something I must have. .
And one 360W-e will only cover the middle 24" of the tank.. im just waiting the folks that have the two lights I ask about to give me the pros and cons of each.. im goimg with one of the two I post.

You can still dim the 360. Just have the 150's come on after sunrise and go after after sunset.

But it is your tank lol so definitely get what you'll be happy with. Nothing is worse than settling and finding out you can't live with whatever you settled for and you have toe pend even more to make up for it.

I personally love the growth I get from my kessil. We are upgrading our tank and I am going with them again.
