calling all t-5 light guys/gals

when i get my tank up and running ill be using a 8 bulb fixture. i would like to see pic of your tanks with diff bulb combos and for you to post what the combo is. im trying to get a idea of what i want.. i know ill want something that gives good growth and looks good at the same time.. so lets see those pics plz!!!!

I have the Ati power module 10 bulb fixture and I use all 5 ati bulbs x 2. The growth and color is great

WOW!!! is the only thing that comes to mind.. great looking tank.. but its a little too blue for me what would you replace to make it a lil less blue.. guess i could add a 15k bulb???

yes, you could do that or replace with actinic bulbs. Here was my tank (3 years ago) when I used T5

pictures of a tank matter more on the camera than the lights used, in person is the only way to really tell

Fidofence is right. Pictures depend on white balance in camera and many other things. You have tosee one in person to judge the different combos to tell any difference.

I use aqua blue,blue plus,purple plus,coral plus, true actinic and 2 of all those

No, it's pretty white, it's only blue for the first 30 minutes and the last when only actinics are only on

I've got 2 fixtures (4 bulb and 2 bulb). i run 3 ATI Blue +, 2 ATI Aquablue Specials and a 10,000k bulb From ZooMed. i like the higher nm range from the Blue + bulbs. My greens look great and all of the other colors show up nicely. I have noticed on some fixtures different ballasts running the lights at different colors but not too extreme of a difference.

I run a TEK 8 bulb set-up on my 90gal. Go to new member forum, under my 90 gal mixed reef, to view tank pics. I've changed the bulbs around several times to find a combo I prefer. The color choices is why I like the t5s, growth is ok. JIM

3 Blue+
2 Aquablue Special
1 Coral+
1 Purple+
1 True Actinic

I'm happy with the color and my sps growth has been great.

how are they placed in the fixture?

The #3 Blue+ and #6 True actinic are controlled seperately and come on a hour and a half before the rest.
