Hey guys,

I have a 29g cycled with 30 lbs of live rock and the following:

1). 2 Clarkii Clownfish
2). 1 Caudern Cardinalfish
3). 12 Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs
4). 13 Blue-footed Hermit Crabs
5). 5 Brown-footed Hermit Crabs
6). 1 Porcelain Anemone Crab
7). 2 Mexican turbo snails
8). 13 Astarea turbo snails

Can I do any simple anemones? Also, what other inverts are good? I have decided three fish is enough, and to focus on diversifyin the tank.

what kind of lights are you running? Also you say cycled but for how long? Are you looking to have an anemone that will let a clown host in it(you said no more fish but it kinda goes hand in hand with a nem) Also alot of people including myself buy a condy anemone for their first...dont do it trust me. You will want a different anemone in no time.

I have a 29g FOWLR. Cycled for two months. Has perfect water. I have the standard flourescent lighting. I have read certain anemones will do okay under this light. I also have current because of two filters.

<span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">I would say under florecents they will not survive...</span>

<li><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">MH's</span></li>
</ul><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">Oh...which ones were you thinking of? For the lighting i think it would depend on what you decide to get but for bubble tip and carpet ligthing is neccesary</span>

<span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"></span>
<span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">and you are welcome;) </span>

<span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">P.S. You will see they say High light Requirements those will not survive under pc's unless high up in the tank but then again why take that risk?</span>

please dont put an anemone under flourescant lighting. Only T5's an MH's. Some can survive under PC's

What are PC's, T5's, and MH's? So bottom line, there are no clownfish equivalents (e.g. easy) of anemones I can put in my tank? Then what other inverts can I do? I want to load up on inverts since my three fish is quite enough for a 29g tank. I have a rectangular aquarium (is that a biocube?)

Power compact flurocents = PC's
T-5s are a type of high octane fluros used in aquariums
MH = Metal Halide lighting

Best advice I can give is to get a good aquarium book like the Conscientous Aquarist and read it several times. You will learn all the basics. Take it slow and learn, learn, learn and you will not make as many mistakes. Everything goes slow in saltwater or you learn very expensive lessons. A lot of reefers do not do any anemones and especially in small lower lighter aquariums.

Get these books they will really help and then step up to more intense reading: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&endeca=1&isbn=0470068051&itm=2">http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&endeca=1&isbn=0470068051&itm=2</a>

What kind of lighting comes with the Oceanic 29gal Biocube? I was thinking of putting a flower anemone in there. Will it survive?

you can add more fish. Nothing will survive under your current lighting.

What test kits do you have to test the water?

definitly a no go on the nem your lighting is not strong enough. honestly it would be a waste of life and money if you put one in your current tank conditions

Go with some feather dusters, they are fun to watch... Go with some different inverts like a sexy shrimp or even a cleaner shrimp.... Go with some really low light softy corals.

But no anemone for you...

In my 140gal. I feed silversides to my flower and bta. Will this do if I put one in my nano?

Hey now.. I LOVE my condi... I know he's not a bubble tip, or anything fancy, but I definatly think he was worth the 6 bucks we paid :) Plus he is hosting with our clown.. So...another plus.

We have Power Compacts, though, and I think those are just about the cheapest 'expensive' lights that you can go with and get away with any type of corals or condi ...

Anenomes GROW!!! I put a quarter sized on in my 12 gallon like a little over a year and a half ago and its the size of a small plate now....So keep that in mind... and they like to MOVE so they knock **** over sometimes....

But yes you can. Need good lights though..what you running? you don't say

that is cool but you have a pretty rare situation. most of the time they wont host.
