Can I do anemones

My 2 clowns host in my Condi as well (in the 12G)....Clowns will host in just about anything? Hell in my other tanks they are in the Frogspawn.... one even hosted in a clam for a while

Lol, my clown is an idiot. He hosts in my polyps. I've even heard of clowns hosting powerheads.

my clown host in a rockin the morning and at night sometimes she hosts above my return.

thats interesting if you look up condy's most of the time people say they wont host a fish. eh beats me!...I still wouldnt want one.

Yeah, that's what everyone said... I was wondering though? What's the downside to the condi's? Besides that they move alot?

My experience was bad the condy would never show its face(tentacles lol), clowns wouldnt host, and then it died at the bottom of a cave deep in my rocks I had to remove all the rocks to get it out. As far as bad things really there arent that many i guess except they are known to not live to long (from what ive read) when they die like all other nems they really screw up the tank...lots of water changes. Yes they do move alot. Also many people buy them due to the price point but then they dont realize taht clowns really dont host in them most of the time. Condy's are from the atlantic/caribean clowns are not from this area thats where the compatibility issues come into play. Someone correct me if I am wrong please. Overall I guess if you have the choice to get a nem most people would go with a BTA.

clowns are insane...my clowns down stairs host on an old shell (large) and on a powerhead sometimes lol....yeah there is no set rule but you do see a tendency for them to more readily host in a BTA then in a Condy. SW can be so darn confusing Lol!

condys are atlantic anemones, at least most of them are. plus condys have a particularly powerful sting, although im not sure if its as strong as a carpet... personally i dont really like them too much, they are very attractive, but the risks outweigh the benifits.

Mines a pussycat...Condi's are fine...I touch mine all the time when he moves somewhere i don't like, plus I like messing with him..put my fingers there and he wraps his tentacles around me and try to pull me in....

I say quit reading so much..they are flooding your minds with BS....

Just so you don't think it's BS...Here I am playing with a Condi in the wild...

See it grabbing my fingers,..They do not sting!

its not that they sting us humans, but they do still have a strong sting in comparison to bta, lta, etc. carpets are still stronger though i suppose, but it of course varies aneomone to anomene.

I have always had good sucess with clowns hosting in my condi's!

I think they're a great cheap anem. You would need atleast pc's though.

I think the anemon sting to a human depends on that human....I've seen my carpet sting the hell out of Rob when he was taking it out of the tank....It didnt bother me at all when I was messing with it. I'ld imagine the same goes with fish or rather how sadistic a fish wants to be to him/herself lol.

Yeah, it's all about how manly you are :lol2:

if so many people have had success hosting clowns with anemones there needs to be a bigger thread about it! there hasnt been very much data supporting this. i still personally wouldnt try it, but im happy to learn something new.

LOL! The first time I my condi touched me, I freaked out, but then I realized I didn't even feel it besides that it was stuck to me :) And now it doesnt' bother me, he'll get my fingers sometimes when I'm feeding him, but it's not any worse than those stupid mollies trying to eat my arm all the time!
