You could but it wouldn't be appropriate. LiveAquaria recommends a minimum tank size of at least 50g. With a bengali and 2 clowns, it maybe a tight fit, not to mention a temporary fit since eel will only grown in size, 2' that is.

+1 If you can find a small one it will out grow that tank really fast !

I had one in a 40 for a good while.. just be ready to rehoke him when he gets bigger.. and make sure you keep him well feed!!!

They will fit in a 10 gallon.. but will it be ok in a 10 galoon all its life? Would you be ok living in a pop up camper and never gettong out?

I have one in a 29 gallon standard with a dwarf fuzzy and a maroon clown. While I do agree that they will need a larger tank later on, they seem to be perfectly fine for now. As others have stated, you def. need to keep the SF fed well. When fed properly he is very docile, but when hungry the other inhabitants seem to be a little more interesting to him and he will swim all over the place in what looks like a search for food. I have been feeding mine a silverside every other day. With proper feeding, maintenance and water changes, it can be done. They are not big swimmers and do not need a lot of room. Mine just hangs out in the rocks most of the time.

Is there a never ending beer tap in the camper?

A smaller tank is OK until they get larger, like Grant said, they just hand out in the rockwork. They are great escape artists. They will get in the overflow and eventually in the sump, or, go carpet surfing.

That being said, I can't tell you how much it bothers me to see one with no room to move around whatsoever for extended periods of time in one of THESE

at pet stores. They put them inside these to keep them from escaping. Go find one and rescue it! A tight lid is a MUST.
