Can I use a garden hose as temporary return line?

I am finally getting around to plumbing in a Barracuda pump I got a while back. I just replaced the seal and she is ready to go. The problem is I am going to have to modify my plumbing a bit to accommodate the new pump. I will have to take my current pump off line for a couple of days to do this.
I have a Mag pump I can drop in my sump and use but it will require a loooong return line. A garden hose is ideal, but I'm a little concerned about the plastic or rubber inside these hoses even as a temporary solution.

Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!

I am more cocnerned about the brass fittings...

Rubber and palstic should be inert on hoses...

I'd be worried about the brass fittings also. Maybe if u cut the fittings off and use a barb to attach the hose with a hose clamp. That might work? I don't guess there is any material inside the hose that would case a problem

Sounds like a good solution. If I'm not mistaken, they offer replacement hose connections in plastic too.

The main concern with a garden hose is whether it has mildew inhibitors built into the rubber. You can easily go to Lowes/HD and buy a few feet of vinyl tubing and connect it to plastic hose repair fittings.
