Carbon makes my skimmer go crazy...

Whenever I add carbon filters to my system the skimmer really kicks in gear. Theres a ton of waste entering the collection cup. What makes this happen and why? My skimmer hasnt been really working that good lately ubtil I add carbon then it goes crazy.

do you rinse your carbon? If not, it probably has some crap on it that makes the skimmer wig out.

HMMM I dont rinse them off just add them in.... I just got 2 phosban reactors I am going to run carbon in one to see if it still happens.
