Okay so I have added a few anemones in the past months and now have a total of five. Before everyone starts screaming at me the two most recent additions are doing great but that another story.
I don't have any water quality issues, parameters are great. I have always used carbon in a media bag in a high flow area of the sump.
I have always thought my water visibly looked pretty good with very little color tint to it when I do water changes.
With the new nems I figured there are bound to be some "smells" in the water that might upset the nems and corals so I decided to add a carbon reactor.
I added a reactor from BRS and brought it online yesterday. It was very easy to install and load with media. Today there is a noticeable difference in the visible clarity of the water. I was really surprised at the difference.
Not sure if it really makes a big difference or if anyone is interested but I thought I would pass it along to everyone that for me there is noticable difference between running passive and active carbon.
(By the way I have been paying attention to the recent concerns regarding HLLE and carbon but still choose to use it. I'm just rinsing it more than recomended)
