cat 1 diamond goby 0

The last thing i expected to see when walking down the hallway to my fish room was to see a half chewed up Diamond Goby. I was ready to punt kick my cat as it sat there almost smirking but i restrained as im not that way. I am also considering the fact that my 24g nano runs topless and diamond gongs have been known to be jumpers. I guess any fish if it gets the will can decide to leave the tank im just not sure if the fish jumped or i the cat decided to go fishing. I've been perplexed at this point to put something over the top of my nano that's effective as well as looks good. It just really makes me angry as i loose enough livestock with general errors that i really hate when its something like this that could have been avoided with better planning on my part

That's all well and good but what do u do if your tank has a bow in the front glass

You can bend the metal frame.

And diamond gobies shouldn't be in tanks that small anyways...

No disrespect guys but i have had this fish over 7 months. I had a 90 gallon i broke down i was living in a house that i was doing a rent to own on but the landlord was pocketing the money instead o paying the mortgage so i got told out of the blue hey you got to go with no warning. I did what i could and if you looked at the drygoods and livestock section you will see i was trying to find him another home for this very reason this just happened before i could get rid of him. Im not a know it all and i do make mistakes but i was doing my best to avoid this scenario. With that being said its already done and over with.

It's a bad feeling to find your cat eating your fish.

I did have a cat that actually saved a fish on two different occasions. One was a clownfish who had jumped out of the tank -- I didn't hear, although I vaguely was aware of the cat being interested it something behind the stand, I was too involved in my computer to go look. Next thing I knew the cat was dropping something in my lap, and it was the clown. Completely unhurt, just covered in dust. Dropped him back in the tank and he was fine.

The second time was a clown loach who jumped from my fw tank. The tank was by the cat's litter box; the cat brought me a litter-covered loach, dropped it at my feet and looked at me like it was my fault. (It was also fine, surprisingly).

I miss that cat.

No one was attacking you, we were just trying to help you avoid this in the future. We've all been there and we've all had others give us advice, and none of it is meant to be taken personally.
