Hello to all. So i need to get a lightening maroon clown out of my tank. I know fish traps catch all but what you want out. Does anyone have a solution. I had one guy say when lights are off use a bright flashlight. Maybe my flashlight isnt bright enough. Hes a beautiful fish but getting anothe pair of clowns later. And the maroon will not be happy. I will be giving him away once out 21/2 to 3 inch long

Unless the fish is very shy, a trap will work. In my experience, clowns are pushy, so if there is food in the trap, it will go in there.

Ya traps will work It just takes patience It took me a week to trap my powder blue tang. This is the trap I use

Have not tried it yet but I was told you can catch pretty much anything is you have a good flash light (preferably a strobe light) Wait a few hours after lights out and hit them with the light a few times. Give it a few min and hit them again (on/off/on/off/on) I'm told this disorients them and you should be able to grab them pretty easily with a net when they are distracted.

If its hosting an anemone you can usually just move that into a net and they will follow. If not, they usually sleep near the top of the tank and can be caught early in the morning that way. If all else fails, trap door fish trap and some food are your best bet.

Used the Flash Light method this morning and was able to catch my Copper Banded Butterfly with not much effort! (Would have been easier I think if someone else was holding the flashlight but goter done :))

Someone told me to use a laser pointer at night with the lights off.
