Ummm... there are fish traps.

You can also search for "coke bottle trap" here and find a reasonable DIY one as long as the fish isn't too big.

This works, also they are blind for like a minute if you flick the lights on in the middle of the night. Good luck and try not to throw the net across the room!!

well its for fire fish, i have 2 of them and i and i heard that they are better in groups of 3 or more, but i dont want more that 2 of one fish unless its an anthia. i think these will do fine to catch fire fish huh?

if its feasible. you can drain the tank down saving the water ofcourse
catch them easily and then refill.

good luck

Best luck I have had is to cut a piece of lexan and and block off one corner of the tank. Bait the fish behind the lexan and then move the lexan back to close them up in the corner. Works great and only requires moving very little rock. I caught 2 fish out of my tank that I had been trying to trap for days. Only took about 30 min.

I have 2 firefish and they have been doing just fine as a pair for the past year. If you do decide to remove 1 or both, I'd second catching them at night. Flick the lights on a catch them sleeping.

After your lights are off at night for a while, turn them back on. You will be able to catch them then. This will work. I just did it last week.

All my fish hide in the rocks at night so how do you catch them.
