Changing PC's on the nano.

Was wondering the major differences between the 50/50's and the 10k pc lights for the nano cube. i mean i know one is half actinic and all that. i have 50/50's now but was thinking of going to the 10k's.

YUou arecurrently running two 50/50's on your nano?

Yes thats what it came with when i bought it used.

well, if yours is like mine, you have two seperate switches that operate those bulbs...... Turn on each switch and decide which light opersates the fan. It's that 50/50 bulb you should switch out for a 10k as your tank will get much better lighting that way...... Save the extra 50/50 bulb for when the other one blows....

Yep! They come stocked with one 10K and one full actinic, which personally I think its a waste to have such limited lighting even more greatly reduced by wasting the available wattage on actinics. The jury is still out, but most agree that marine fauna to not benifit from the actinic, it just looks better to us. by switch to a 50/50 bulb, you're gaining 33% more usable light in that nano system, without having to modify it
