these guys are so beautiful and the biggest harlequin shrimp i have ever seen. They're pre-sold at blue planet. Id love to have some but im afraid some of my other inverts might eat them -- plus i dont want to have to supply them with a live SF to eat. Can anyone that has or have had one tell me about their experiences with them?

I had my Harley for about 18 months, loved him, I had several tanks full of asterias stars and he did a great job cleaning them out in about 4 months. I tried removing the legs of large starfish and kept a tank for them, after the second leg they usually died so I started buying small cho chip SF and feeding about every 10 days and supplemented with the asterias I could find in my other tanks and what I could get people to give me. He disappeared about 6 weeks ago, I look for him every night in his favorite spots in the 75g. You will have to feed live starfish, he will clean out everyones tank you know of asterias.

I have a pair. They don't seem to bother anyone, when they have a starfish they usually hide in their cave and I don't see them for a bit. Only when they're hungry do they come out and stomp on all my corals.

I too tried removing individual legs. They died pretty quickly, so I just get them small to medium ones 2-3 times a month. They seem to be okay with this arrangement. :)

They do look very nice. Only thing that stinks - they need SF as food. Can either get expensive or a pain over time.

yeah. they are just so beautiful. I only have a couple of those white nuisance stars so theyd prolly feed on my sand sifting star. Im good for now. My tank is like 75% inverts. Only have three fish and an anemone other than the inverts.
