Does it matter as i continiously hear mixed reviews? Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions prior to my install as id hate to redo this?

Thanks, Geoff

The PVC check valves we typically use must be installed vertically. Even the spring loaded ones need help from gravity to function properly.

vertical.... no scientific backup! but... all of my water has kept in the confines of the system

It shouldn't matter. The purpose of a check valve is to allow water to flow in only one direction. If it flows in the wrong direction it will push the flapper valve closed. Although I doubt it would matter, I would make sure that is installed right side up if it is horizontal but really, I don't think it would make a difference.

Thanks guys, now i def gotta do alittle redesign. Hmm...guess i could run a seperate pump for the manifold although one i got is def overkill....

I was just trying to get after my manifold but i doubt that will fit so i am planning on running an extra pump specifically for it

Mine is installed horizontal. Has been for two years with no problems. Make sure you put the hinge on the top so it swings down with gravity and the water pressure will do the rest.

Good luck!
