Anyone have their Hanna Checker go nuts?
In 3 consecutive tests mine read 141 / 167 / 131

What the heck

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Which one? Alkalinity, calcium or other?

I've had some squirrely readings from my Alkalinity tester but it's always been traced back to smudges on the outside of the cuvette or residue on the inside. Nowadays I fill the sample with a 50 ml pippette and don a nitrile glove when testing. Haven't had any issues other than the recalled solution a few months back.

Any sporadic readings came from a dirty vial like Jeremy said. If it's less than a year old Hanna will send you a new one if they think there's an issue. :)

yea its the alk.
crazy alk results scare me.
I have a lot of sps in the tank right now and an alk problem is the best way for everything to blow up

just ordered a salefert kit for alk. forget this crazy reading stuff
