Chemiclean for Red Cyano.

im going on 12 months with out the first spot of bga in my system

and really think grabbing a chem or shutting off your lights is no way to handle it its just a bandaid and a hope that it dusnot come back but it will as you didnot find the fuel that causes it to return on you
there is ways to git rid of it it just takes a little time and a little less equipment on your system

1 grab a peace of 1/4“ ridged tube the stuff that dusnot bend easy make triangle notches in the tip with nail clippers aim for 8 points now take this hose and suck out the crap look for the thick spots this is ware food is building up causing the out breaks. you may have to do this a few times do it on your day off wen you cut the lights on and spot clean every few hours

2 git rid of the gfo i cant stress this that stuff sucks and leads to more out breaks as it gives the bacteria a good place to hide and multiply use something like phosguard or a liquid phos remover or do it like me and add 1/2 tbsp or mrs wages pickling lime per gal to your ato

im sorry you guys have issues with bga i use to

Edit:

I will say that cyano in my tank has gotten so bad that it actually starts lifting up at the edges and can be picked up like a big blanket.
I did the first of a daily series of water changes today along with changing out carbon in the reactor. I'm hoping 10% water changes everyday for three or four days will help clean out whatever it is that is causing the cyano and bryopsis problems I've had since I setup the 150. All water params are spot on so I'm wondering if there is somesort of bacteria that has infected my system

use kent tech m to kill the byro you have to run high levels of mag but it works

I know to turn off the skimmer while dosing chemiclean. I've also read that you want to keep the water as aerated as possible. My skimmer is in the back of my biocube. Any problems with running it sans skimmer cup to aerate the water?

Thanks

I have used it on my tanks, I look at it as part of maintenance .... I do it every couple of months..... Haven't lost anything either!!
